Owner Aalborg Portland A/S General Contractor Christian Pfeiffer Maschinenfabrik GmbH Engineering Office Brand & Gleinser GmbH Construction Period 05/2016 - 11/2016 In order to keep its facility at the state-of-the-art of productivity as well as environmentally friendly, Aalborg Portland A/S decided to extend it with a closed filter circulation and an additional FGD-Gypsum silo in the existing grinding system. The limited available space around the cement plant of Aalborg Portland A/S made the design of the supporting steel structure an exciting task! Beyond the local circumstances, also the high pressure on time to design and execute turned this project into a special challenge. The steel structure presented here is the support of the filter and associated pipes. The total weight of steel for this project is about 115 tons. This was our first project on which we applied IDEA Statica Connection.
