149 ARCHITECT Architram Architecture et Urbanisme SA OWNER Fédération Vaudoise des Entrepreneurs GENERAL CONTRACTOR n/a CONSTRUCTION PERIOD 10/2019 - 10/2020 In the city of Yverdon, Switzerland, a new scientific and technological district named Y-Parc is in full expansion, in a currently rural area. Therefore, a lot of people will drive there and will need a place to park their car. In the first stage, the car park will be three storeys high, with a total height of 9.0 m. In the long term, four more storeys can be added, the building will then reach a total height of 21.2 m. The structure has a total length of 126 m and a width of 34.60 m. The main frames of the structure have a span of 16.90 m. The floors are made of steel and concrete composite slabs. Two circular concrete ramps provide access to the storeys. The interface between the ramps and the slabs is a critical point of the structural concept as the structure is designed as continuous without any joints. Another challenge in this structural design is the small number of walls that can be used as seismic shear walls, therefore an advanced seismic verification had to be performed. For such a repetitive structure, the system of axes implementation is of great use. For example, when an architectural decision imposes a change of the axis positions. Concerning the modelling, the composite slab elements are very user friendly and allow us to optimise the structure quickly. Moreover, the ramps were modelled quickly thanks to the integrated drawing tools. The seismic analysis module is of great help for challenging structures with few walls as it makes it possible to make even complex calculations quickly.
