165 FIRE SERVICE TRAINING CENTRE Velke Pori c i , Czech Republ i c ENGINEERING COMPANY ATELIÉR P.H.A. Hana Gattermayerova Gabčíkova 15, 182 00 Praha 8 (CZ) www.p-h-a.cz ARCHITECT ATELIER TSUNAMI s.r.o. OWNER HZS of the Hradec Králové Region GENERAL CONTRACTOR STYLBAU, s.r.o. CONSTRUCTION PERIOD 05/2018 - 05/2019 The design of a new 21 m high fire service training centre allows for maximal and special usage of every inch of the building for various training activities. Inner as well as outer walls, which partly arch over an open space, can be perfectly used for training at heights, thus not only preparing the fire service crew physically but also simulating special rescue missions. There will be well shafts, polygons with very limited space and artificial trees. Firefighters from all over the Czech Republic will undergo their education and training at the new centre. The most outstanding element and a real eye-catcher is the monolithic climbing wall on the exterior side of the building. The basis of the building are two monolithic structures forming the front and rear facade and creating the most demanding training polygons of the facility. In total, the climbing wall is seven storeys high and offers a unique training place with its complicated shape and narrow manholes resembling a variety of shafts and wells. The whole structure was calculated as a complete 3D-model. In this way, the total influence of all external loads can be considered, and the global stability can be determined. Also calculated were the accompanying deformations and details of connections. The difficult shape of the reinforced concrete training wall and the unusual design of all steel parts were challenging for production of the drawings. SPECIAL PROJECTS 4
