179 The temporary access ramp of the waste incinerator in Ivry sur Seine, near Paris in France, is a 90 m long ramp which in its highest point reaches 8 m and ends on a 43 m by 27 m large platform. In order to erect this structure, 275 t of steel and 550 t of reinforced concrete prefab slabs have been used. More than 600 dustcarts and articulated lorries use this access ramp every day. Thanks to its suitable design with well-chosen supports and overall dimensions, this structure with its non-stop movement and ongoing traffic of dustcarts fits into the industrial surroundings established alongside railway tracks. The short time allotted to build the structure (less than 5 weeks) required to devise time-saving tricks such as prefab concrete slabs or complete pre- assembled sets of main support beams delivered on site ready to be installed without any delay. SCIA Engineer, through its convenient use and easy update of results and models, enabled us to add new data and components whenever required during the whole project timespan, while keeping the high-quality analysis.
