184 The soccer stadium of FC Antwerp will be completely rebuilt into a new contemporary arena ready to host national and international games. The first phase, T1, has been already completed. Now the design of T4 is in progress and, after finished, will be hosting thousands of spectators. Robuust Architectuur & Onderzoek is currently designing the T4 project using a full 3D model. The structure is designed and studied by Robuust AO and Tractebel. The SCIA Engineer’s 3D model is built up from an advanced architectural 3D model using BIM Tools. SCIA Engineer was used to analyse the global 3D model of the whole new building, including the steel roof and the concrete structure. SCIA Engineer is very helpful in analysing the horizontal stability of the structure, in determining the loads on the foundation elements and in evaluating the interaction between the concrete structure and the steel roof. Steel checks were performed to optimise the structure and the reinforcement checks will be used to design the concrete prefab elements. Wind effects, temperature effects and natural frequencies of the roof structure were analysed. Moreover, accidental situations and alternative load-path-simulations were calculated (for example explosions, column loss, car collision, …).
