189 GAS STATION AVA JETT Gabč í kovo , S lovak ia The AVA JETT gas station is located in a small town Gabčíkovo, Slovakia. It consists of two structures. The first one is a kiosk – a building with a shop, café, zone for customers etc. It is a two storey building with a flat roof. The second one is a shelter over pumping units. The shelter has also a flat roof. Both structures are made mainly from reinforced concrete. Only the columns on the second floor of the kiosk are made of steel. What is interesting about these two structures is their oval shape. The load bearing structure of the kiosk consists of walls, columns, beams, ceiling slabs and a foundation slab. The load bearing structure of the shelter includes a slab, columns in the shape of letter “Y” and foundation footings. In the roof slab of the shelter, there are three huge oval holes for reduction of the self-weight of the structure and they also serve as an architectural element. SCIA Engineer was used to create a full FE model, to find the optimal shape of the structures, to calculate the required reinforcement for concrete parts and to check deformations of the structures. SCIA Engineer was very helpful in modelling of the structures with a complicated and difficult shape. ARCHITECT Adif s.r.o. OWNER Bekor s.r.o. GENERAL CONTRACTOR Axaprojekt s.r.o.
