48 ARCHITECT PRP Architects OWNER Quintain Ltd GENERAL CONTRACTOR John Sisk & Son CONSTRUCTION PERIOD 2016 - 2021 The Wembley E03 project consists of seven residential blocks, varying in height from 13 to 26 storeys, of reinforced concrete construction surrounding a central podium over a coach park. The site is situated in North West London adjacent to the iconic Wembley Football Stadium. This provides 743 apartments and ground floor coach parking during match days. At Ground Floor, the internal spaces surrounding the coach park offer a ‘Super Lobby’ to Block G, retail spaces, cycle storage and a triple height Energy Centre for use across several plots. Shear cores within each block provide stability. At Level 01 deep transfer beams transfer the column grid of the apartments above into a regular grid of columns between coach lanes at ground. The podium level also supports a green roof of planting, trees and other amenity space. Using SCIA Engineer enabled CampbellReith to analyse and design all the reinforced concrete elements, which included the complex transfer structure at Level 01. SCIA Engineer was also able to accurately assess deflections within the structure to enable positioning of drainage gulleys across the podium slab at the lowest points. This prevented ponding and waterproofing issues from developing.
