69 ARCHITECT Architektenatelier OWNER Waterrijk Boskoop GENERAL CONTRACTOR Smit’s Bouwbedrijf CONSTRUCTION PERIOD 2017 - 2019 In Boskoop a new living area is created with hundreds of ground level houses and several apartment buildings. De Boomgaard is the largest of those apartment buildings and contains 2 building blocks on top of a ground floor that is used for multipurpose care facilities. These 2 separate building blocks serve for residential purposes. The first one has 4 floors with 27 apartments for sale and the second one has 3 floors with 30 apartments for rent. The foundation base is roughly 29 x 92 m. SCIA Engineer was used for the standard static and also stability calculation. The 3D model helped us to evaluate the general structural behaviour. The structure was not regular and many of the structural elements disappeared (i.e. were not present) at the ground floor. With the SCIA Engineer model we were able to calculate the pile loads, which in turn helped us to determine the number of precast piles. The results were also used for the calculation of reinforcement in the foundation and inside concrete walls.
