The ground floor and basement serve as a commercial area. The tower is constructed on the existing basement and foundation raft that is a part of a larger ZNA – Cadix hospital project. Remarkable for the tower is the smaller footprint of lower floors compared to the larger footprint for all levels above the 11th floor. As a result, the upper floors overhang by 4.65 m. Each floor is therefore a cantilevering concrete slab made of high-strength concrete (C50/60) to limit the deformations. The horizontal stability of the tower is provided by the concrete walls of elevator shafts and staircases. Due to a strict planning, the contractor will use precast concrete walls. SCIA Engineer has been used for the verification of global stability, calculation of deformations of the tower taking into account the cracked lintel shear beams, check of the wind comfort, and in general, as a design tool providing a reference model for load take down. Modelling of the exact reinforcement layout, using the practical reinforcement, enabled us the full optimization of the slab thickness and steel ratio. The deformations of the cantilevered slab were calculated taking both cracking and creep into account. 6000 m² 6000 m²
