143 Nemo - Game module for children The major goal of the mission was to design the stiffeners and to optimise the tubular profiles of the roof. The steel structure is composed out of tubular profiles which are connected with aluminium pieces. All the loads (permanent loads coming from the games and exploitation loads) were given by the designer. The control of the aluminium connectors and the membrane roof did not be part of the mission. The membrane roof has been considered as fixed to the structure in several points to take into account the effect on the structure of a wind in depression on the roof. An external engineering office performed the study and the game module was presented 15 days later to the McDonald Convention in Orlando. With SCIAESAsoftware a global modelisation of the structure was realised, it was possible to control and design all the constitutive elements within one calculation note. Moreover, the model took also into account the interaction between all the elements. It is then possible to optimise their section to come to a structure as light as possible. Short Description
