73 Statoil LNGPlant, Norway The construction of a new LNG plant is situated on an island near Hammerfest, Norway. The steel structures are fabricated by Iemants (B) and assembled on their site in Hoboken. The installations are almost finished, i.e. with cladding, piping, electricity supplies, with all cables etc. The different modules are put on the ship and transported to the plant, where they are fitted in the entity. Important in the way of fabrication is the handling of the structures (lifting, shifting, moving …) and the transport on sea (with horizontal acceleration forces). We used ESA-Prima Win to create models of the several modules, included piping. The modules are submitted to a transportation load. This includes their fixing on the ship and the modelling of the effects of the waves while transporting on sea. These loads are translated to horizontal components of the dead load (such as in earthquake calculations). SBE also made the execution drawings (for about 4000 tons), from which for +/- 2000 tons transportation and detailed studies were made. Short Description
