This structure, an area of 14.500 square meters, consists of tubes, spread over a grid of 16 m x 16 m, supporting a network of beams and trusses. The whole roof has a weight of 1.000 tons. A 3D global model was used for the stability and expansion joints. The design is conducted according to the EC and the full functionality of Scia Engineer was used for the input and manipulation of objects. The satellite will be put into use in 2012.
