With over 40 years’ experience in special civil engineering construction, the company has developed more than 1000 projects for a variety of construction companies, consultants and concession road companies, showcasing Gheller Engenharia’s remarkable experience. The guarantee of security and quality on all the projects, the development of optimistic works, and above all easy and economic execution are prime objectives of this company. Owner Confidential General Contractor Confidential Engineering Office Gheller Engenharia This project is composed of several spans of precast concrete beams, adding up to a total length of 3,500 m, along with stretches of vertical curve, horizontal variables, radius and stretches in tangent. The biggest challenge was the conception of the project that resulted in 48 different types of concrete beams amongst 223 beams in total. Additionally, the geometry of the prefabricated slabs which have variable radiuses and different span lengths generated countless reinforcement and formwork drawings. The use of SmartParts technology improved the detailing process of these elements, which usually have many details. The most important factor in this process was ensuring a reliable design which theoretically did not require any subsequent correction. The gain in productivity and the reliability of the process was a strong advantage when using SmartParts. Any revision of the geometry during the construction would generate an unthinkable rework in the elements already detailed, but with SmartParts it was possible to solve these issues with just a few “clicks”. We used automated 3D modelling by programming two SmartParts: one for beams and one for prefabricated-slabs. Each SmartPart was modelled with parameters for formwork and reinforcement, with 2D representation for each element. After the modelling, beams and slabs were pre-assembled in a standard layout allowing analysis of all elements (beam + pre-slabs) in 3D. SmartParts for Infrastructure Projects (Bridges) - Brazil AP
