99 SPEED INCREASE LOT VIADUCT Lot, Belgium In order to establish an efficient railway network, both network density and speed are crucial factors. Aiming to enhance the speed on the Brussels to Paris railway line, efforts are being made to increase the velocity on the existing track. Given that simplified calculations proved inadequate, a more comprehensive and intricate full dynamic analysis became necessary. This analysis incorporates the interaction between the train vehicle and the bridge structure. Since the dynamic analysis focuses on a single beam element for the bridge, it is not feasible to model the entire bridge itself, and only equivalent properties can be applied. Thanks to SCIA Engineer, the intricate composite steel-concrete structure could be accurately modeled and analyzed. Furthermore, the software facilitated the retrieval of torsional eigenmodes, which is unattainable with a single beam model. Ultimately, the SCIA Engineer model proved invaluable in verifying the results obtained from the dynamic interaction model.
