124 This project involves the transformation of an old Percolator Filter, originally designed for water treatment, into a filter utilizing MBBR (moving bed biological reactor) technology. The renovation includes structural modifications such as adjusting wall heights, adding dividing walls, and incorporating new walkways on the top of the structure. To minimize additional load transfer to existing elements, auxiliary structures like beams and buttresses were carefully designed. The analysis model, created using SCIA Engineer, aimed to assess the adequacy of the existing structure to withstand the altered loads, identify areas requiring structural reinforcement or demolition, and dimension and detail the new elements essential for this renovation. Upon completion of the SCIA Engineer analysis, the structure was exported to Allplan, facilitating the definition of construction stages, quantities, and other specifications requested by the contracting company. The generated document in *.ifc format provided access to a 3D model, enabling iterative visualization and manipulation of the design. This collaborative workflow streamlined the renovation process and ensured efficient coordination among project stakeholders.
