125 SEWAGE PUMPING STATION Paraná, Brazil The Terra Nossa pumping station is strategically situated on a steeply sloping plot, featuring essential components such as a 21.40 m wide, 7.80 m deep, and 2.95 m high reservoir, accompanied by a side channel and a 4.30 m high suction well. Adjacent to this structure, an access track and a retaining wall have been constructed to address the level difference between the track and the natural terrain. To ensure the stability and structural integrity of the pumping station, an embankment constructed with an inclined rocky profile serves as its foundation. Leveraging the capabilities of SCIA Engineer, a comprehensive analysis was conducted to assess internal loads and the impact on the retaining wall. The study focused on critical factors, including horizontal stresses that induce shear stresses at the base of the footings. These findings were instrumental in the geotechnical analysis, which aimed to identify the most effective stability solution for the entire structure. Ultimately, it was determined that anchoring the footings in high-quality rock using anchor bolts would provide optimal stability and support. The application of advanced engineering techniques and geotechnical considerations ensures the reliability and long-term performance of the Terra Nossa pumping station.
