126 In the production factory, the owner requested the installation of a walkway on the first floor, providing visitors and employees with an excellent view of the entire ground floor and creating a safe passage throughout the plant. The gallery length is 115 m and is constructed using prefab concrete slabs and steel framing. These elements are suspended from the roof trusses and support the prefab concrete floors. To ensure the structural integrity of the walkway, SCIA Engineer was employed to analyze deformations and vibrations. Additional bracing was introduced to enhance stiffness and raise the natural frequency of the structure. The 3D design capabilities of SCIA Engineer facilitated optimization by strategically placing steel only where necessary. The powerful Own Frequency module of the software enabled the assessment of vibrations caused by people walking on the walkway, ensuring its stability and safety.
