142 The observation tower is strategically positioned near a flooded lignite quarry on its dump, offering a unique vantage point. Standing at a height of 35.10 m, it features observation platforms located at 29.70 m and 5.40 m levels. The main supporting beam is a tube with a diameter of 1,220 x 18 mm, while the perimeter columns consist of 180 x 80 x 4 mm tubes. The staircase is designed as a righthand spiral, providing access to the observation platforms. To ensure stability and rectify any potential tilt caused by uneven settlement, the observation tower is built on a cellular foundation. The subsoil contains a layer of liquid clays originating from mining activities in the Medard mine, with an anticipated total settlement of approximately 600 mm. The construction adheres to the parameters outlined in the Czech Standard ČSN 730039:2015 for designing objects in undermined areas. The complexity of the model reflects the intricacies of the project. The graphic editor used for design purposes showcases several advantageous features. However, it is important to note that Soilin is not suitable for constructions in undermined areas. The circular array function allows for efficient multiple copies of elements in the design process.
