147 STATION Ede-Wageningen, Netherlands A new station area in Ede will replace the existing Ede Wageningen railway station. As part of this project, an overall railway roof will be constructed. The roof consists of 23 triangle roof elements (28 x 28 m, beam 0.3 x 2.0 m²) covering 4 railway tracks, along with 3 rows of triangle and rectangular columns. To maintain the original platform design, the dimensions of the columns were minimized through a model that optimized strength and stiffness. A geometric nonlinear structure with expansion joints was developed to control deformation. The structure exhibits eccentric stability elements, triangle roof elements at different heights, 4 expansion joints, a hybrid structure, strict requirements for horizontal deformation, and relative flexibility. Linear analyses were initially used for the sub models, while the definitive stage involved a geometric nonlinear model of the entire structure with detailed properties. The expansion joints were modeled as non-tension, physical nonlinear elements. Dynamic influences were considered by calculating the natural frequencies of the structure, and wind forces were increased by 20% to account for these factors. SCIA Engineer was utilized to optimize the assembly process during the realization phase, which was divided into several stages.
