150 The Adidas Arena, which will host events for the 2024 Games, is a facility that is contributing to the revitalisation of Porte de La Chapelle, in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, France. This 20,000 m² multi-activity hall has a capacity of 8,000 seats. Baudin made the metal structures of the complex: the floors and stairs of the gymnasium and the roof of the large hall. The latter is composed of 7 lattice girders with a span of 80 m with the height between members of 8.50 m. This framework represents a weight of 1,000 tons. The weight of floors and stairs of the gymnasium is 320 tons. Three materials, concrete, steel and timber, are used and the design office of Baudins client Bouygues has produced a global calculation model with their own software to best approach the overall behaviour. Baudins challenge was to retrieve, for each load case, the displacements and rotations at the supports of the steel structure laid on the concrete structure and to insert them into a SCIA Engineer calculation model. After a few iterations required to obtain convergence of the results between the two models, they were able to perform the design and code checks of the steel structure. The possibility to generate XML code allowed Baudin to design the steel structure with SCIA Engineer, and to take advantage of the functionalities of the tool, although the whole model had been designed with another software.
