168 The Jaguar Belvedere project is an exceptional addition to the Alchymist Lagoa Encantada holiday resort in Ceará, Brazil. Designed as a structural masterpiece, its primary aim is to offer visitors a unique and captivating experience. Situated on the edge of an artificial lagoon and adorned with projected reinforced concrete that mimics natural rock formations, the belvedere exudes an organic and rustic ambiance that harmonizes perfectly with its surroundings. Its striking shape leaves a lasting impression. The project presented several challenges, including the intricate structural design, managing launching loads, establishing secure foundations, and constructing curved internal stairs. The most significant challenge involved designing the distinctive volume that forms the head of the jaguar, along with the cave-like interior. Additionally, modelling the curved staircase, composed of steel sheets and anchored to the structural frames that define the cave’s form, posed another noteworthy challenge. Despite these complexities, the Jaguar Belvedere project stands as a testament to architectural ingenuity and showcases the seamless integration of art and nature.
