173 CONTAINER BUILDING Hammersbach, Germany A café of about 1,600 m² was designed and built as a full container units building for a client in Hammersbach Germany. It represents a low cost and quickbuilt solution of high quality. To meet the architectural design, nine different container types were used. The designed container compilation enclosed inside and outside stairs, a large open terrasse, elevator and additional steel pent roof. The whole container unit structure including detailed corners was built up in SCIA Engineer with Structure-, 3D-Free-Modelling- and Drawing tools. It gave the opportunity to have the planned structure confirmed the client already during the draft stage. The calculations were processed in SCIA Engineer using the second order anylsis under EC loading. All container units were optimized based on the calculated results and it provided valuable feedback about all connections and anchors. All the overviews, elevation, execution and detail drawings were processed and created in SCIA Engineer using the appropriate modelling- and drawing tools. The flexibility of the created 3D model allowed for a low-cost realisation of different client wishes raised during the planning phase.
