174 The steel structure of the spiral stairs has a height of 11 m, an outer diameter of 4.0 m, and an inner diameter of 1.5 m. It is supported by six inner round steel column tubes fixed on a reinforced concrete ground plate. To ensure sufficient escape routes, six elevated connection bridges were incorporated, strategically positioned along with the stair parts. The main challenge of this project was accurately modelling the curved spiral structure with its numerous interruptions caused by the connection bridges. Extensive on-site measurements and thorough investigation of the existing building were crucial for successful execution. SCIA Engineer proved to be an invaluable tool in this process. It allowed for the creation of a precise 3D model that could be shared and confirmed with the client. The software facilitated the adjustment of the stairway structure to seamlessly integrate with the surroundings. It provided the necessary calculations and designs according to the applicable norms, and generated comprehensive static reports with clear overviews, elevations, and detailed images. Furthermore, the structure could be easily transferred to other programs, such as Inventor, for further surveying, production drawings, or execution purposes. SCIA Engineer ensured the overall quality of the project, guaranteeing the successful implementation of the high-quality structure.
