178 This project involves the design of a wheat hopper for a mill located in Cotia, São Paulo, incorporating both reinforced concrete and steelwork structures. A notable challenge in this project is the presence of a water table at a depth of 3.0 m, which imposes constraints on the height of the lower tunnel. The structural and foundation design considers the unique requirements of the wheat hopper, ensuring its stability and functionality. The use of reinforced concrete and steelwork elements enables the construction of a robust and efficient structure capable of handling the specific demands of wheat storage and handling. Careful consideration is given to the foundation design, taking into account the water table depth and its impact on the lower tunnel’s height. The design strives to optimize the structural integrity and performance while adhering to safety regulations and industry standards. By implementing sound engineering principles and utilizing appropriate construction materials, this project aims to deliver a wheat hopper that meets the operational needs of the mill in Cotia/SP while considering the specific challenges posed by the water table.
