At SCIA, we are passionate about supporting and celebrating the incredible achievements of structural engineers who push the boundaries of what is possible. The SCIA User Contest provides a platform for these talented professionals to showcase their innovative projects and share their expertise with a global audience. The projects presented in this book have undergone a rigorous evaluation process by an international jury of esteemed academics and professionals. I extend my sincere gratitude to each member of the jury for their time, expertise, and commitment to excellence. Their discerning evaluation considered various factors, including technical level, originality, presentation, SCIA software usage, BIM workflows and sustainability. I am thrilled to announce that this edition of the SCIA User Contest received an overwhelming response, with 126 projects from 15 different countries. The diversity and caliber of these submissions serve as a testament to the talent and dedication present within the global structural engineering community. The sheer range of categories, from buildings and civil structures to industrial plants and special projects, highlights the versatility and scope of our profession. Within each category, the jury has selected one winner and three nominees, recognizing their outstanding achievements. In addition, we have a special award, the ‘Award of the Jury,’ which acknowledges exceptional contributions in BIM workflows and sustainability. Furthermore, the ‘Award of the Public’ allows SCIA Engineer fans to vote for their favorite projects, emphasizing the importance of community engagement and recognizing the projects that resonate with a wider audience. The SCIA User Contest is not only a celebration of the winning projects but also an opportunity to learn from the collective wisdom and experience shared by all participants. It is my hope that this book will serve as a source of inspiration, promoting further advancements and collaborations within the field of structural engineering.
