49 PRODUCTION AND ADMINISTRATION BUILDING Rožnov pod Radhoštěm, Czech Republic The building consists of 7 floors, with the highest reaching a height of 22.5 m. It has dimensions of 8.95 m x 8.2 m and is situated on a slope, with a significant difference in level between the bottom and upper floors. To ensure stability, a retaining pile wall system is employed, supported by soil anchors. Although the SOILIN module is not available, the engineer conducted a parametric study using various constants (C1 and C2) to represent the soil surface. Vertical elasticity was simulated using spring elements within the model. The stiffness of these springs corresponds to the vertical displacement of the piles, which were designed using specialized pile software. One of the advantages of using SCIA Engineer is its capability to design structures made from different materials. In the engineer’s design, he incorporated various elements into a single model, including the foundation slab supported by piles, pile retaining wall, concrete walls, concrete ceiling slabs, masonry, steel stairs, and timber rafters. A notable feature of SCIA Engineer is its ability to handle load panels with holes (windows) and distribute the load on them using the Finite Element Method (FEM). ARCHITECT Arch.
