54 The Free University of Brussels, Brussels University Hospital, Green Energy Park vzw, Robuust, and Ghelamco have teamed up to create NEXUS, the first sustainable data center in Belgium. The building comprises 8 stories of 1,500 m² each and 2 basement floors. To meet the high fire safety requirements, the construction mainly consists of concrete. The total surface area of the building is 13,500 m², and each data floor has a load capacity of 2T/m² or more, without any underhanging beams to prevent conflicts with technical equipment. Since the maximum span of the floors is 10.5 m, post-tension technology is employed to minimize deflection.
