SCIA User Contest 2023

63 RESIDENTAL APARTMENTS Púchov, Slovakia Residential complex Pod Zábrehom 2.0, situated on Dlhé Lúky street in Púchov, Slovakia, consists of three rectangular buildings with six storeys each. The ground floor accommodates parking and commercial spaces, while the upper floors house the residential flats, all equipped with balconies or terraces. The reinforced concrete structure comprises walls, columns, beams, and slabs, with each building resting on a foundation slab. Additionally, gravel vibro-piles were implemented to enhance the subsoil beneath two of the buildings. To analyze the complex interaction between structural elements, SCIA Engineer was employed to develop a comprehensive finite element model and generate design-focused analysis outputs. The software’s Soil Interaction module proved beneficial for modelling the interaction between the structure and subsoil, considering the changes in the foundation system. The Dynamics module facilitated the creation of seismic loads, and the Long-term Deflection Analysis module was utilized to evaluate the long-term deflection of concrete slabs. Integration members were employed to consolidate results from 2D members into 1D representations. Through the implementation of SCIA Engineer’s capabilities, the design process for Pod Zábrehom 2.0 was effectively supported, enabling thorough analysis of the buildings as unified entities. The software’s diverse modules played a crucial role in assessing structural behavior, soil interaction, seismic considerations, and long-term deflection, contributing to the overall success of the project.
