96 The project is located at the Kermen railway station in Bulgaria. The pedestrian bridge was part of a grand renovation project of the railway track and infrastructure in the area. The structure consists of two towers connected by a pedestrian bridge. The span is 15 m. The whole structure is designed from steel. The deck of the pedestrian bridge is designed as a composite slab. The pedestrian bridge is designed with the use of SCIA Engineer. The challenge was to determine the right amount of rigidity of the structure and account for vibrations and temperature loads. Here the software was extremely helpful, and the resulting steel structure was economical and efficient. Using SCIA Engineer as a primary calculation software, Tsenov Consult made an efficient design of the structure. The ease of use and computational capabilities of the software make it irreplaceable in the daily workflow of a structural engineer. ARCHITECT arch.
