140 Introduction The construction site is located in Třinec (CZ) at the end of the industry area Baliny. The industry area is connected to the capacity road II/468 by a level crossing of major railway line Cadca (SK) – Bohumin and three tap lines owned by Třinecke zelezarny, one of the major iron works in the Czech Republic. While the crossing-gates are closed, the trucks exiting the industry area are blocking the tap lines. The goal of the project is to replace the level crossing by a capacity grade-separated crossing which will not influence the operation of all the railway lines. The terrain configuration and the arrangement of the adjacent industry area results in massive reduction of construction height at the crossing of the first tap line. Two network arches with span of 73,5 m are designed together with bridges on the connecting ramps. The four bridges work as one structure from the point of structural and dilatation behaviour. General description of the project The grade-separated connection of the road II/468 and the industry area in Třinec-Baliny composes of four bridges and three retaining walls. The bridges will be described shortly: SO 201 – Bridge over the railway line carries four traffic lanes and is designed as a network arch, span 73.5 m, height of the arch 12.25 m, bridge deck height variable 0.55-0.75 m, bridge width 22.8 m. The deck made of concrete C35/45-XF2 is longitudinally prestressed by 9 27-strand prestressing cables, transversely prestressed in each rib of the deck by 2 13-strand prestressing cables, 76 in total. The connection of the arch and the deck is provided by 36 hangers Ø 60 mm, steel S460N. No bracing between the arches is provided, thus the dimensions of the arch-box are 1150x650 mm; the arches are made of steel S355NL. SO 202 – Bridge over the road II/468 composes of a network arch carrying two traffic lanes (span and height similar to SO 201), bridge deck height variable 0.65-0.75 m, bridge width 13.0 m and a 18.5 m long interchange part, where the two side traffic lanes of the SO 201 turn right (left) to the adjacent bridges SO 203, SO 204 respectively. The network arch is longitudinally prestressed by 6 27-strand prestressing cables, transversely prestressed in each rib by 1 13-strand prestressing cable, 38 in total. The connection of the arch and the deck is provided by 36 hangers Ø 52 mm, steel S460N. No bracing between the arches is provided, thus the dimensions of the arch-box are 950x650 mm; the arches are made of steel S355NL. The interchange part is the most complicated part of the bridge. Half of the longitudinal prestressing of the network arches is anchored in the end cross-beam Used software: Scia Engineer, ESA-Prima Win, Nexis Bridges on the grade-separated connection of the road II/468 and the industry area in Třinec-Baliny (CZ) The text introduces bridges on the grade separated connection of the road II/468 and the industry area in Trinec-Baliny (CZ). The terrain configuration and the arrangement of the surroundings result in massive reduction of construction height. Two 73.5 m long and 12.25 m high network arches, the intersection part and adjacent ramps work as one structure from the point of structural and dilatation behaviour. Many modules of IDA Nexis and Scia Engineer had to be used to perform a complex static and dynamic analysis of the structure including all the building phases.
