Wastewater treatment plant modernisation
Extension and modernisation of the existing wastewater
treatment plan, the plant consists of 4 venting shafts
grouped by two with longitudinal post-tensioning.
The key figures:

dimensions of two shafts = 110 m x 70 m x 10,5 m

concrete: 11500 m³

reinforcement steel: 1520 tons
Compared with the pre-design bill of material, an econo-
my of 726 m³ of concrete and 59 tons of reinforcement
steel has been achieved by using a refined analysis
model.
Two different models were used:
-
a full shell model in order to obtain the internal
forces in the straight parts
-
a refined local model to take into account the eccen-
tricity between the two walls and the spreading of the
post-tensioning into the walls. The internal design
forces given by the program could then be used to
derive the necessary reinforcement in this area.
ESA-Prima Win software has been used.
